The old man shrugs and sighs.
"'No' on the granddaughter.
Well, there are other ladies that need saving, I assure you.
Why, just beyond the plain over there, a young woman is trapped in a tower.
A witch took her away from her parents when she was just a baby and has not let her out since then.
What do you say to saving her, huh?"
The old man actually looks hopeful, and you suddenly realize that he will not give up easily.
"A sheltered girl raised by a witch?" you ask.
"You've got to be kidding."
The old man scowls.
"She's a sweet little soul and very beautiful.
She has an amazing voice and hair to die for.
Surely that's incentive enough to save her even with a witch involved."
"But never been outside of the tower," you say.
You imagine a young woman who has never had to take care of herself before.
"Untouched innocence!" the old man declares.
"Hardly any virgins out there any more.
AND, if you end up marrying her, you may even have twins."
"Really," you say.
You imagine two of everything except the mortgage.
You weigh that against the image of a beautiful girl who has never even seen a man before.
"So, what do you say?
Will you take the quest?"
