It's not as if you have anything else to do with your time.
The old man smiles warmly.
"You're doing a good thing, I assure you, but you may need a little background information to fill you in.
Over a century ago, Princess Beauty and her castle were put under a spell, and until someone breaks the spell, they're to continue sleeping and sleeping and sleeping."
You digest this piece of information before asking, "And how am I supposed to break this spell?
That
is what you want me to do, isn't it?"
The old man nods.
"What you'll need to do is get past the briars, into the castle, find Beauty, and kiss her.
That should wake her up, and once she's awake, the whole castle will wake up, too."
You think the whole thing is strange, but you shrug.
"Okay."
The old man puts his sack down, opens it, and begins to rummage through its contents.
"You'll need to bring something along, of course.
Just in case you need it."
He pulls out a hefty-looking sword with one deceptively strong hand, a revolver with the other.
"You can choose one of the two, this sword or this gun."
