Illustration

This isn't like any of the other activities I have ever put up on this site. This is merely a suggestion for those creative artist types who are always looking for a subject. If you don't consider yourself an artist, you might want to pass this up; otherwise, read on.

There's a poem called "Where Have You Gone?" in my poetry journal, which I wrote on assignment. It's a study of similar vowel sounds, or assonance, and to really pack a punch, I used a lot of words that normally wouldn't be found together in the same paragraph, let alone the same sentence, creating some rather bizarre imagery.

Your assignment is to read this poem and illustrate it.

No, I won't be paying you commission, and no, I won't be asking that you give the resulting piece of artwork to me for free. It's just something for you to do, and you may or may not want to share it with others.

If you should decide to share it, post it on your own web site and e-mail me the address so I can link to it from here.

I would rather that you did not send me a copy to post here with a credit to you because I simply don't have the room. If you don't have a web site and need help creating one, I can try to give you a few pointers.

Or, if you like, you can learn HTML.
