High Crimes

Seen: April 6, 2002 - Matinee
Very Brief Synopsis: Ashley Judd plays a lawyer whose husband turns out to be someone else -- someone charged with killing innocent villagers in a messed up military operation. She takes on his defense, enlisting the aid of Morgan Freeman, who plays a former JAG lawyer and drunk, and in trying to discover the real murderer, her life is threatened.
Comments: I love Ashley Judd, and I love Morgan Freeman. They tend to do well together. My one complaint about this movie is that I had to have the plot explained to me afterwards because there were a few things that didn't make sense to me. In other words, there were missing beats and unnecessary red herrings. There were also actions whose motivations didn't ring true for me. But... oh, well.

Hollow Man

Seen: August 18, 2000 - Matinee
Very Brief Synopsis: The leader of a scientific research team tests an "invisibility" serum on himself and turns on them when the second phase of the experiment fails.
Comments: Very cool special effects, especially when they show the gorilla reappearing, but the story is so predictable (cookie-cutter story as my boyfriend calls it) that even I -- who typically can't tell what will happen next -- was able to say what the next scene would be.

Hollywood Ending

Seen: May 5, 2002 - Matinee
Very Brief Synopsis: A has-been director gets a chance at making his comeback film, but he loses his sight due to stress at the start of shooting and has to fake his way through the whole thing.
Comments: Cute movie. Considering that this was a Woody Allen, it could have been better. The ending seemed a little too quickly put together, and there simply should have been more scenes to foreshadow Téa Leoni's character getting back with Woody Allen's, especially since she was close to marrying the rival.
