About This Site
aprilgem is short for April Garnett E. Martinez. That would be me, a 31-year-old graphic designer who lives in Orange County, California. The domain houses a personal web site that's been online since 1999, and this journal has been a part of it since 2001.
aprilgem's journal is not a diary. Nor is it really a blog. I merely use this journal to share my writing, riddles, tutorials, and artwork with anyone who might enjoy them. Unless otherwise indicated, everything was written or created by me.

Contact
If you'd like to contact me about a particular post, you are free to leave a comment; your e-mail address will not be shown. Otherwise, you can write me at mail at aprilgem dot com.
A word on the comments: I've had to start moderating them because of what's called "comment spam". That's when spammers leave bogus comments on people's weblogs to advertise just how tiny spammers' penises really are. So if you leave a comment, it won't show up on the site until I'm able to log in and approve it. Rest assured, if you're not trying to sell me something I don't want or need, I'll definitely approve your comment. It may just take me a while because I'm a busy, busy girl whose weblog is so low on the priority list, the comments can wait.
