A Touch of Calico

A Touch of Calico

I recently got myself a better flash for my camera, so I was finally able to capture the cat in action without blowing out the background or losing all the texture in her fur. I mentioned once before that she’s not entirely black, but also reddish brown and shockingly white in some places. So here I’ve caught the cat in a totally undignified pose as she’s rolling on the floor rubbing her back on the carpet, begging for a tummy rub, and looking at me as though to say, “Aren’t I just the cutest thing?”

Note the black head, the reddish body, and the shock of white on her belly. I suspect one of her biological parents was a calico. I say “biological” because, hey, when it comes right down to it, I’m her real mommy.

  1. Awww … she’s GORGEOUS!!!! We have two black cats but in the sunlight it does show up as a darker version of her red. Beautiful 😀

  2. This lazy cat, who was rescued from certain death at Kitty Kat Jail, is the MOST spoiled animal in the Western World. She has two full time caretakers working 24/7 to see she has crunchies ready to go on both floors of her posh Huntington Beach townhouse. Lacking opposing thumbs, she never helps around the house — a charge unfairly hurled at some other people, too…
