Distaff Rodomontade
Dictionary.com‘s Word of the Day today is rodomontade. Merriam-Webster’s Word of the Day today is distaff.
Naturally, I had to create a poem out of them. Here it is:
The kid next door and his rodomontade
Of his thriving business of lemonade
Did nothing but irk me, the girl next door,
And so I sold jerky to even the score.
I also sold cookies and cupcakes galore
And various sundries, and even more!
This neighborhood distaff CEO
Gave selling her items a good gung ho
‘Til no one would buy from the kid next door
And I bought him out and then—what’s more—
I drank up all his lemonade
And gave him no reason for rodomontade.

I wanted to have vinaigrette on my rodomontade but distaff only had thousand island…
*thumbs up*
You are no epigone; your avatar of a poetess is quite charming indeed.
