Bad [Doggerel] From My Writing Past #22: Here You Are (2/2001)
“Please pass the salt. This dish is bland.
I think it needs a little hand.”
“Well, here you are—but not too much!
With salt, you only need a touch.”
“The pepper, too, please—right this way.
It’s much too much like eating hay.”
“Well, here you are—but please be wise!
Too much would really sting your eyes.”
“Ah, now it’s ready for a taste—
This dish of mine won’t go to waste.”
“So eat! Don’t let it sit too long;
It might get cold and—hey, what’s wrong?”
He gulped some wine and roared like Kong,
“My seasoned fare is much too strong!”
