Too Hot to Handle

Too Hot to Handle

We’re too hot to handle.
There’s absolutely no doubt.
The Tiger team is really mean.
We’re gonna knock you out.
Too hot to handle.
[Clap. Clap. Clap.]
Watch out!

It’s been so hot today, I’m regressing to my high school days, trying to cool off. It was 118 degrees in the Valley (Los Angeles), so I guess I should be happy it wasn’t as bad here. Still, it’s pretty bad. There’s no wind, no cooling breeze. The air is unbearably still, and even in my coolest room, it’s hot.

Not only that, but as I lay in bed and chatted on the phone with H.E. about how hot it was, I felt a bit of an earthquake. Apparently, Riverside County was the epicenter, and they had a 4.7 tremble. It so frightened my cat, she stayed under the bed half the day.

Outside was no cooler. It was hot even in the shade.

We sought the air conditioning in a couple of restaurants. It did us no good.

It was that hot, and coming from me, that’s saying a lot. In high school, during an extreme heat wave that caused some students to faint, I was the girl with the freezing cold hands, all cool and comfy in my light sweater.

I guess that’s why I’m regressing. Right about now, cold hands would be comforting.

  1. Hey, got some chilled-in-German-rain hands for you right here … guaranteed not to warm, I’m pretty sure!
