Secret Message #14: Cat’s Game

Secret Message #14: Cat’s Game

This game’s a bit tough to win. There are no hints whatsoever.

When the cat’s ready, perhaps the only hint of a warning is that she gags several times, the sounds coming from deep within her belly, and then she pukes up a hairball that looks like number two. The only sign that it isn’t (so I know not to pound her) is the fibrous look of the tubal hash. She might not be sharp, but her out-of-the-box droppings are less accidental and more willful, and she’s been very happy lately and therefore very good about it. Anything out of the box is usually a hairball.

But it’s like a game I can’t win these days, when the weather is warm and she is shedding like crazy. I feed her an anti-hairball cat food and brush her daily to keep her shedding down. Yet still, every now and then, she leaves me these gifts like little hugs and kisses on the carpet.

I’ll give five Amazon dollars to the person who solves my problem, but I have a feeling that this is a game that can’t be won.

ETA: Minnie claimed this egg on 5/31 and said that if anyone else found it in the next day or two, she was willing to give the prize up to someone else. Kat Mayo e-mailed me about part of it on 6/3.
