It’s been brought up at least a couple of times now: Why don’t you have comments enabled on your site?
Good gawd.
First of all, it’s news to me that anyone actually reads this, let alone wants to comment on it.
I’ll admit that I’ve considered adding the comments feature and argued with myself that I didn’t need the hassle. Yes, the hassle. When you put an interactive feature on your site, you add the need to moderate it, and frankly I’m too lazy and too selfish with my time to moderate anything. I don’t want to get the e-mail that comes with every posted comment; I don’t want to comment on any of the commenters’ comments; and I don’t want to have to ban the IP numbers of any potential trolls.
Plus, there’s this fear I have that no one gets, or cares about, what I say on this site. I imagine people reading my words, adopting a bewildered look, and then uttering a soft uncertain “eh?” Or, worse yet, a loud “Who cares?”
What if, once I do open up the site for comments, no one actually… well… comments? Can you imagine the trauma my ego would endure? Here I am, sharing a piece of me and asking others to share pieces of them, and no one responds.
The horror!
So here I debate whether or not to have comments. I suppose the best way to deal with it is to throw it out there and ask what people think, and I guess the best way to do that is to—yep—open up the comments feature.
What a conundrum.
If no one comments, I shall weep and never open up the comments again. If people comment negatively, I shall weep and curse the trolls forever. If people comment positively, well… I shall weep for joy and open up the comments every now and then, just to let other people’s views in.
So I’m crossing my fingers. The comments feature should be open for business on this post; make use of it, if you will, as this might be a once-in-a-lifetime deal.
Should I, or should I not, let you get a word in edgewise?

Yay for comments!
You should definitely let the others get a word in edgewise, but certainly not me.
Youโre only asking for trouble when giant lizards are allowed to speak their mind.

Hello April, it’s very nice to meet you.

You are so my twin! That is a perpetual worry with me, too. ๐
Yay for comments, though. ๐
Comments! *claps*
I would thoroughly enjoy them. As I enjoy the made up addresses you leave on Dave’s site.
I see the fun that will follow if you stick with this.
Well, FINALLY!! Glad we were able to talk you into it!
I’d only be worried about perhaps starting to post just for the comments.
Whew! Thanks, all. I’m weeping with joy. [You like me! You reeeaaally like me!]
Well, not really [You big crybaby]. But I am definitely one happy camper. :o)
