Filled to the Brim with a Lack of Energy

Filled to the Brim with a Lack of Energy

I must be sick or in the process of turning into a cat. I’ve been sleeping on and off all day today—two- or three-hour naps with four or five hours of wakefulness in between. Or perhaps it was the other way around. I went to bed at a reasonable hour last night and got plenty of sleep. I woke up to the sound of Mexican laborers stirring up the leaves, grass, and pollen outside, all of which gave me a sinus headache. Then nap, nap, nap.

So why am I so dead sleepy again?

This entire day has been another flurry of non-activity, only this time for health or physical reasons. Unless I’m doing all this in my sleep, I’m amazed I got anything done at all.

I’ll write again when I’m fully awake. For now, I could sleep through the night, the week, or even the year.

Did I mention I’m sleepy?

  1. I blame pollen. My left eye got swollen yesterday from some allergic reaction to whatever was blowing around at the berry farm. Knocked me out for the rest of the day and felt like I was stuck to the couch with velcro.

  2. I blame pollen, too. I never used to suffer allergies, but I find as I’m getting older, I’m more and more sensitive to allergens. I hear that global warming will extend allergy season every year, so I’m not too happy about it.
