Latest Work, 2007 Week 13

The first three covers you see here are from Liquid Silver Books. I was hoping to add two more covers here from Loose Id, but the two first drafts are still pending approval.

In Search of FleshImpassioned SeaThe Gates of Infinity

My favorite piece this week is the above Impassioned Sea. It came out a whole lot better than I originally envisioned.

Then there’s the final version of Seducing the Hermit, which I mentioned once before. There were a few tweaks to the characters themselves, and I added a lot of chaos to the background. It’s my favorite cartoon cover to date. I hope I get to do more like this.

I’ve also been finalizing a lot of print covers this week. I’m not sure yet if Leashed: More Than a Bargain at Loose Id is completely approved, but this is the latest draft I sent in.

Leashed: More Than a Bargain

At Liquid Silver Books are all of the following:

Fallen: DominicHelp! I'm Falling for the Vampire Next Door

I worked on just the layouts of the above two. The original artwork for Fallen: Dominic was done by Fabiano Fabris. L.W. Perkins did the original artwork for Help! I’m Falling for the Vampire Next Door.

The rest below are mine:

Have I mentioned that I love, love, love my job?

  1. I was at Borders the other day, buying books and scoping out the competition, and with out a doubt. The covers you’ve done for us this batch are far superior to what I saw at the bookstore! I mean you do amazing print work for both pubs, but I LOVE the little icon on the spine of the book on ours, makes them really stand out, and hopefully soon on a bookstore shelf! I’m so thrilled and honored to be working with you!

  2. :) Thanks, Tina! ::blush::

And I think what makes the spine logo stand out so much is the simplicity of the shape and color — makes it easier to see on the shelf from the aisle.

  3. Unrelated to this post… your calendar looks like a “Hi.” And I miss those calendar-puzzles you used to do.

Also? You owe me an answer: why the past tense for the love of footnotes? (ref: my last post on my blog)

    🙂

  4. Minnie, I thought I sent a response via e-mail? Let me know if it didn’t come through.

But I’ll come by your post again and answer anyway. 😉

As for the calendar thing … yep, I’m doing it again.
