Calling It In

Why isn’t there a Call It In feature in WordPress? It should be right next to the Write feature, and it should have pre-written stuff—lorem ipsum blah blah blah.

I’m working on stuff that’s due or that will soon be due, so either I regret having made a resolution to blog more regularly, or I regret failing to keep that resolution. There appears to be no way to escape regret, so here I am.

I worked on four things today. One of the things I worked on tonight is an uber-uber-secret project over at one of my publishers. A new series, a new site, a new world, and sometime in February, it all goes live. I’ll tell you about it … in February.

I should be working on four other things. One of the things I should be working on is a set of three illustrations for a magazine. A girl, a guy, a virtual dinosaur, and a bunch of hoodlums, all for one story, and after this, no more volunteering for the sake of the portfolio. After this, no ticky, no laundry.

I had to put off, oh, a dozen things. One of the things I had to put off is a combination of illustration and web design for a sassy, funny author. A cartoon character for print, for a web site template, content incorporation, and the full upload—a fun package entirely from scratch. Better than that, it pays.

I like being busy, but the last couple of months have been ridiculous. I barely have time to think.

Okay, that’s it. I’m calling it in.

  2. Drew, the project I mentioned before (not in this post) is something entirely different — more to do with my personal life than with my work. That one is still in the plans but not actively being worked on right now due to current circumstances.

    The project I mention in this post, however, has more to do with work. 😉

    I would like to see Chicago win, so I guess I will predict them to win.

    What is the status on your potential haircut?

    Is it pending, temporarily postponed but will likely happen sometime this year or permanently canceled?

    I guess another option would be that it is done and gone you just haven’t mentioned it yet. I would be surprised if that was the case.
