Home Again

Home Again

So I’m back. I opened up my inbox this morning, the first time since before I left, and discovered I overestimated the volume I’d have. I received only about 1200 e-mails, not 1500. Whew. Because that extra 300 can really break a camel’s back, you know. A quarter of that was spam. Over a half were group, forum, and blog notifications. An eighth were from friends and family with news, jokes, and unwanted chain letters. The final eighth was work-related. I only just finished going through all of them. I haven’t yet responded to any of them.

The weekend, however, was wonderful. I got to meet Nikki and her family. We were in beautiful Rhode Island to attend Minnie and Alex‘s wedding. I didn’t take nearly as many photos as I wanted to or normally would have, mostly because I wanted more to simply be there and because nearly everyone there is a photographer. So taking my own photos was kind of overkill.

I’d write more about it, but (sigh) I have e-mail to answer before I turn in tonight. Feel free to read Nikki’s post about it.

  1. As one who currently lives in Rhode Island, [Northern] I hope to see a few pics you have taken.
    Welcome back.

  2. I felt the same way about the photography. It was much more fun focusing on all the great food and people. I hope your photos from the rehearsal turned out better than the blurry, under-exposed ones I took. 🙁

  3. I haven’t looked at mine yet, but I’m guessing mine are a little blurry as well — I discovered after the rehearsal that two of my settings weren’t in sync; one was on Auto, and the other was on Manual. So it didn’t focus on what I wanted to during the rehearsal.

  4. Don’t worry about the photos, girls! The ones taken by Dan Doke will be ready in three weeks or so and then, I am sure, we will have plenty to choose from. 🙂

I am just so happy and grateful that I got to spend time with you guys. I would love to meet up again, this time at a more relaxed pace, giving us ample “quality time” with each other.

Oh, and April? We missed you on the last day. xo

  5. Ok, now I know I should wait before I get my new business cards made – so. I’m hoping you’ll help me with a new logo!

    Mark

  6. Mark, I’m slowly and steadily going through my projects. My inbox has always had over 50 unanswered/unresolved e-mails. Somehow I managed to whittle it down to 39 today. Getting there! 🙂

  7. I promise I won’t email you until your mailbox goes down. 😀
Lex loved the maze & labryinth links, btw!

  8. E-mail from friends is always welcome. 🙂

I thought she might like those links! One of them, if you go to the main maze page, also has a generator to create Christmas tree shaped and Valentine heart shaped mazes, too. 😉

  9. April,

Hey. How are things going? I hope that you are caught up on your e-mail and will find the time to start posting some new material sometime soon! 🙂

After all it’s been a couple of weeks.
