Silver Siren

Silver Siren

Silver, Liquid Silver Books' mascot

Liquid Silver Books needed a rendering of their character “Silver”—she’s the mistress of their newsletter, Silver Siren. They already had a borrowed graphic of some silver-skinned female, with something that looked like scales on her back, so I figured Silver was a mermaid. What else does “siren” imply? Never mind that I’ve always been fond of mermaids.

So here is Silver as a mermaid, with a Liquid Silver Books drop in the palm of her hand. I think they made tattoos of this to give out at the convention.

  1. I’ve always read that sailors in the “days of yore” (did I really type that?) would sail their ships into the rocks as they chased the siren’s call.

Siren can also imply a vampish woman, luring men to their peril. As all women do, eventually (j/k!).

    Heh.
