Bird in the Bush
H.E. wants to send me somewhere new for photos. I haven’t gone shooting for a long, long while now, so I’ve been digging regularly in my archives. I’ve discovered that I take less photos at each shoot now, even though the digital format makes it easy to take more. I took 76 shots in my last outing, but out of those 76 I’d happily show 70, so I’m not at all sad that I didn’t fill my media card with 700 shots. So long as my ratio of presentable shots is high, I’m happy.
This one is almost presentable. It’s one of those where I didn’t quite get what I was attempting. I couldn’t get the focus on the bird, which kept moving around and blending into the background. So the focus is on the dried little bloom. This is from that fateful hike I made along the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserves, where I caught so many birds in action, so it was in my first days with the camera.

70 out of 76 presentable? That’s an excellent ratio! Mine is like 5 out of 100!
I think I need to go on a photo adventure soon.
So very cool!
