Back in Town
I’m back in town and very slowly catching up on my e-mail and projects. I visited a very beautiful place, one which has made me seriously rethink where I’d like to spend the rest of my life. And I have photos to share! So there.
In other news, it’s election day. Again. California has had an election every year for the last three years, and darn if I’m not sick of it. I’d actually vote today, but I just got back in town yesterday and my car is much too dead to drive all the way down to San Diego, where I am registered. Dead, I say. It won’t even start. It died Thursday before last, and even though $400 was shelled out at the Big O on Beach and Yorktown, it did not get fixed! A 15-year-old Toyota that has served me so well over the years and long commutes, a car so well known for its dependability, and they can’t fix it? I’m calling for a boycott there. Seriously. The car wouldn’t even start when I tried to drive it home from the garage, and they still charged me.
So I’ve decided to register to vote in Huntington Beach for the next election. I might as well, since I live here, and if my car breaks down, I can simply walk to my polling station.
I guess I’m back in town in more ways than one. Now all I need is a working car.
