Decisions, Decisions, Part Deux
Since Lelia went through the trouble of suggesting better ways to fight spam, I decided to try upgrading … again. Upgrading had always been at the back of my mind, but I never got around to actually accomplishing it because for some stupid reason I couldn’t log into my phpadmin to back up my sql database—God, I sounded like a geek just now.
Anyway, I gave it one more try and wrote my web host to ask why I couldn’t log in … only to find out that the stupid reason I couldn’t was that I’d been typing in the wrong passwords all this time. Dork that I am.
So, there you have it. And here I am, in a brand new look, waiting to see if it’s enough to keep the spammers away.
Blame it all on Lelia.
And for those others of you who left comments in the last post, thank you.
Gordo, just for reading nearly all of my pages, you’ve left me impressed, flattered, and touched, all at once. If you’ve fallen in love, you have my pity. H.E.’s more profound description of me is that I’m easy to fall in love with and very hard to love. Believe me, H.E. and I have called it quits a few times, but it turned out they were only very long coffee breaks, and we went right back to work.
Cousin Zee, the blogworld hasn’t lost anything. When you joined the blogworld, it gained more than I could ever take away from it. So there. Smooch!
Parl, you are awesome to have stayed with me so long, and if heavy tomes are involved, I will buy what you have to sell, so please send an encyclopedia set post haste, and make sure to include the S volume. The one I have doesn’t know much about sports!
Worthstream, add me if you like, and perhaps my blog will be like Santa Claus and show up on your aggregator once a year.
Drew, you can always ask me for dating advice. I can’t promise my advice will be any good, but I’ll give the best I can. As for the hair cut, it’s still on the horizon, but for now the locks are still long and forever clogging up the sweeper. And yes, I’ll continue to maintain a presence for my freelance work. That’s over at graphicfantastic.
And Broch, omg, where do I begin? It’s because of you that I decided to take my art seriously and try to do some commercial good with it. You were the first to believe enough in me and actually commission a piece. For that, I am always in your debt. 🙂
Anyway, for all of you, I will hold off the retirement for a while as I wait and see.

While it isn’t the aliens, I LOVE your new design! I hope that you decide to at least stick it out for a little while longer and see how the spam control goes. I recently switched over to MT 3.2, and am happy as a clam. Now that I think of it, I may need your artistic services again here soon if you have the time…..
Thanks, Broch! But this design was a “theme” I downloaded. I plan to make some custom tweaks to it to make it more alien. As for my services … I’ll do what I can to catch up now so I have time when you get to me. 🙂
Everyone blames The L! 😉
Glad to see you are going to try this for a bit. 🙂 Whether it’s my fault or not!
Woohoooo! So glad you’re giving it another go ’round!! Oh, and by the by, I’m blushing. 🙂
April,
Nice to see you’re giving [yet] another go.
As for the encylopedias, uhm,.. My dog is curently reading the ‘S’ volume.
and I lost the U volume. but that’s okay… because they gave me a Double U
[“double U” “W”… ha! I just slay me]
April,
Really pleased to hear that you are staying in the blogging game as you are one of my favorite sites to read. I’m also happy to hear that you still have all your hair. That means there’s at least a chance that you’ll post some pictures of it before you get it cut. At the rate you’re going you may have hair down to your knees and be the year 2009 before you get around to the haircut anyway.
