Too Muggy For This Muggle

Too Muggy For This Muggle

I hate weather like this—stifling heat and humidity, mugginess abound. I drove home cranky yesterday and developed a headache simply sitting in the car and baking in the heat, and the crankiness didn’t go away.

California isn’t supposed to be like this. Dry desert sunny warmth is the norm, and I have no idea where all this moisture is coming from. It makes me wonder how people on the east coast survive on a day-to-summer-muggy-day basis. They’re all crazy, simply crazy. That’s like living your life in someone else’s armpit.

So I’m excusing myself from writing anything meaningful tonight. The heat just won’t let my mind stay engaged for very long. All I want to do is lie down in front of the fan and sleep.

  1. Ugh, I hear you. It’s been around 88°F here with a 68% humidity.

It’s been raining incessantly since the last two days, and yet there’s a mugginess in the air.

  2. As a New Englander I can say we suffer pretty much the same.
I’m just happy that I have A/C in the car as well as home.

  3. its great weather, if u like to get drenched. How much I love it. I just dont mind catching a cold, minn, the first showers are wonderful. It goes get stickier, but nonetheless pleasant.
Heat of the summers are what I call Yucky!!

  4. It’s even worse when surfaces develop a layer of dampness.

I don’t like heat, but it’s more tolerable when humidity isn’t involved. Keep cool and dry as much as you can.

  5. Maybe a shorter haircut would help you with the heat. It has to be hot to have all that hair when it’s so hot.

  6. Fortunately, I keep my hair up and out of the way, so it’s not that much of a problem in the heat, but I’d love to have short hair for the summer.

H.E. wants to take photos of me with my hair down before I cut my hair, though, so I’m saving up to buy a digital camera first. The crapera’s fauxtos, as nice as they are, are simply not enough for me. 😉

  7. The mug is due to "remnants from Hurricaine Claudette" (according to my weather-by-email). Blech. At least we live near the fog belt up here neaar SF.

  8. Drew, with all this heat? Yes, I am. I may change my mind again, though. My mind wavers when it comes to my hair.
