I meant to post this yesterday, but my Mac’s video card decided to die on me before I could finish a project, forcing me to put everything aside while I looked for a replacement card. It’s a lot harder than I thought it would be to get back into sketching something everyday. I’ve skipped a few days and didn’t even bother to sketch anything real. No references, just doodles from the head. My weekly calendar has Sundays as the last day of the week, so this week I’ve done three sketches and two half-hearted attempts at sketches, all only on Thursday and Friday. Liquid Silver Books needed a rendering of their character “Silver”—she’s the mistress of their newsletter, Silver Siren. They already had a borrowed graphic of some silver-skinned female, with something that looked like scales on her back, so I figured Silver was a mermaid. What else does “siren” imply?
