IT.
Not exactly the ideal dream house -- it's the hardest thing to live in, at least to my knowledge. Little comfort. A bit drafty. And not a whole lot of room in which to move.
But I made this place, and it's all I have to house me. Do I have to live in it? Of course not. If I want comfort, it's up to me to make it comfortable. If I want warmth, it's up to me to provide it. If I want more room, it's up to me to create more space. If I can't make it any of those things, it's up to me to find another place.
The best thing I can do with my ration of one lifetime is to make the most of what I have. The real estate market might look a little slim today, and there might not be an alternative residence handy, but I can build around my stone house, add on to it, redecorate it, demolish and rebuild it. If I find it hard to live in, that's my fault; I didn't set it up to make it comfortable, or I didn't make it more comfortable than it was when it was left to me.
The secret to enjoying life in this world is to be your own interior decorator. So far, I suck at it, but I'm learning.
I'm learning.
